On January 17th, 1991, a united Coalition of 39 countries launched Operation Desert Storm, the military operation to liberate Kuwait which Iraq had invaded 6 months earlier. Only a short 100 hours after the ground invasion, Kuwait was liberated and the once-feared Iraqi army was driven back to Baghdad. While it would not be last time the US military would face off against Saddam's Iraqi Army, the speed and professionalism of the Coalition forces set the gold standard for maneuver warfare in the modern age.
